It was feeding time at the zoo. All the animals were getting their food.
那是動物園的喂食時間。所有動物都在拿他們的食物。

獅子吃肉。
大象吃干草。

The monkeys ate their?bananas.
猴子吃香蕉。
The bears ate their honey.
熊吃蜜糖。

Then it was time for the seals to be fed. Mr. Johnson took them fish.
接著是喂食海豹的時間。詹森先生分魚給海豹。
"Horray for fish!" said the seals. They jumped in the water.
“魚啊，萬歲！”海獅說。他們跳進水里。

Soon the basket was empty. "That is all there is," said Mr. Johnson. "There is no more."
很快籃子變空了?！斑@里就是全部的魚了，”詹森先生說?！皼]有更多的?！?/div>
"Thank you for the fish," said the seals. "They are good." The seals were happy.
“謝謝你的魚，”海豹說?！安诲e的魚?！焙１獋兌己芸鞓贰?/div>

But one little seal was not happy. He sat by himself. He looked sad. "What is wrong, Sammy？" said Mr. Johnson.
但是有只小海豹不是很高興。他自己一個無動于衷的。“有什么不對的嗎，薩米？”詹森先生說。
"I want to know what is like outside the zoo." said the little seal. "I want to go out and look around."
“我想知道動物園外面的世界是怎么樣的?！焙１f?！拔蚁氤鋈タ纯?。”

"All right, Sammy," said Mr. Johnson. "You have been a good seal. You may go out and see."
“好吧，薩米，”詹森先生說?！澳闶且恢还缘暮１Ｄ憧梢缘酵饷嫒タ纯??！?/div>
"Good-bye, Sammy," said the other seals. "Have a good time." "Good-bye," said Sammy.
“再見，薩米，”其他海豹說?！巴娴糜淇臁！薄霸僖?，”薩米說。

"Where are you going?" said the zebra. "I am going out," said Sammy.
“你要去哪里？”斑馬說?！拔乙酵饷嫒?。”薩米說。
"Have fun," said the hippo.
“玩得開心，”河馬說。

"Come back soon," said the giraffe.
“早點回來，”長頸鹿說。
Sammy walked and walked and walked. He did not know what to look at first.
薩米一直走。他不知道先看什么東西。

"The seal must be from out of town," said a man.
“海豹一定是從城外來的?！币粋€男人說。
Sammy looked at everything.
什么東西，薩米都去看。

"What street is this?" said a man. "I am a stranger here myself." said Sammy.

"I guess it is feeding time here, too." said Sammy.

"I wish I could find some water. I am hot. I want to go swimming," said Sammy.
“我希望我能找到一些水。我很熱。我想去游泳，”薩米說。

"We are sorry. There is no room for your in this puddle," said the birds.
“我們很抱歉。這個小水坑容不下你，”小鳥們說。
"And there is no room for you here," said the goldfish.
“這里也不夠大，”金魚說。

"Keep out," said the policeman. "You cannot swim in there."
“留在外面，”警察說?！澳悴荒茉谶@里游泳?！?/div>
"Ah, here is a place!" said Sammy.
“啊，這里有個地方！”薩米說。

"Who is in my bathtub?" said someone.“誰在我的浴缸里？”有人在說。
"I am sorry," said Sammy. He left at once.
“對不起，”薩米說。他馬上離開了。

Some children were standing in line. Sammy got in line too. "What are we waiting for?" asked Sammy.
有些孩子們在排隊。薩米也跟著排隊。“我們在等什么？”薩米問。
"School. What do you think?" said a boy. "That will be fun. I will come, too," said Sammy.
“上學。你覺得怎樣？”一個男生說?！皶苡腥?。我也要去，”薩米說。

The teacher was not looking. Sammy sat down.
老師沒在看薩米。薩米坐下了。
The children made words with blocks.
孩子們用積木來拼單詞。?

Sammy wished he could spell.
薩米希望他會拼單詞。
"All right, children. Now we will all sing a song," said the teacher.
“好的，孩子們。現(xiàn)在我們要一起唱一首歌，”老師說。?

The children had good voices.
孩子們有好的嗓音。
"The sounds fine," said the teacher. "But one of you is barking – just like a seal."
“聽起來不錯，”老師說?！暗悄銈兊钠渲幸粋€在喊叫——像海豹一樣。”?

"Is it you, Joey?" said the teacher. "No," said Joey.
“是你嗎，喬伊?”老師說?！安皇牵眴桃琳f。
"Is it you, Helen?" said the teacher. "No," said Helen.
“是你嗎，海倫？”老師說?！安皇?，”海倫說。

"Is it you, Dorothy, Robert, Fred, John or Agnes?" "No," said the children.
“是你嗎，多蘿西，羅伯茨，弗雷德，約翰，阿格尼斯？”“不是，”孩子們說。
"Then it must be you." said the teacher.
“那么一定是你?！崩蠋熣f。

"I am sorry. This school is just for boys and girls."
“我很抱歉。這學校只收男生和女生?！?/div>
"Please let me stay," said Sammy. "I will be good." "All right, you may stay," said the teacher.
“請讓我留下來，”薩米說。“我會乖的。”“好的，你可以留下來，”老師說。

Sammy was happy. He sat at his desk and looked at the teacher.
薩米很高興。他坐在自己的座位上，看著老師。
He learned how to read.
他學會了怎么閱讀。

"And now it is time to play," said the teacher. "Who wants to play a game?" "We do," said the children.
“現(xiàn)在是玩樂時間，”老師說?！罢l想要玩游戲？”“我們想，”孩子們說。

They threw the ball over the net.
他們把球扔過網(wǎng)。
“球必須不著地，”薩米的隊友大喊?！叭グ亚蚪幼 ！?

Sammy caught the ball on his nose!
薩米用鼻子把球接住！
A boy on the other team tried to catch the ball on his nose, too. "Boys must catch with their hands," said the teacher.
對手隊的一個男生也試著用自己的鼻子去接球。“男生們必須要用手來接球，”老師說。?

Sammy tried to catch the ball with his flippers. "Seals must catch with their noses," said the teacher.
薩米試著用自己的鰭去接球?！昂１獋儽仨氁帽亲觼斫忧颍崩蠋熣f。
Up and down went the ball, from one side to the other. At last the teacher blew her whistle. "Who wins?" said the children. "It is even," said the teacher. Everybody was happy.
球向上向下去、從一邊到另一邊去。最后，老師吹了她的哨子。 “誰贏了？”孩子們說。 “打平了?！彼腥硕己芸鞓?。

A bell rang. School was over. "Will you be here tomorrow?" said the children. "No," said Sammy. "School is fun, but I belong in the zoo. I just wanted to know what it is like outside. Now I have to go back."
鈴聲響起。放學了。“明天你會來嗎？”孩子們說?！安唬彼_米說。“學校很有趣，但是我住在動物園。我僅僅想知道外面是怎么樣的?，F(xiàn)在，我必須回去?！?/div>
"Good-bye, Sammy," said the children. "We will come to see you." "Good," said Sammy.
“再見，薩米，”孩子們說?！拔覀儠タ茨恪！薄昂?，”薩米說。

Sammy was in a hurry to go back to the zoo. He had so much to tell the other seals.
薩米趕著回去動物園。他有很多東西想告訴其他海豹。
"May I welcome you home, Sammy," said Mr. Johnson. "I am glad you are back. You are just in time for dinner."
“歡迎你回來，薩米，”詹森先生說?！拔液芨吲d你回來。你剛好趕上晚餐時間?！?

"There is no place like home," said Sammy.
“沒有地方比得上家，”薩米說。?
