The 55-kilometer Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is a?magnificent feat of engineering of China. Connecting Hongkong, Zhuhai and Macau, the Bridge is the longest sea-crossing bridge-tunnel system in the world. With the bridge in place, travelling time between the three cities is cut down from three hours to thirty minutes. This reinforced concrete bridge with huge spans fully proves China’s ability to create record-breaking megastructures. It will not only boost regional integration but also promote economic growth. The Bridge is the key in China’s overall plan to develop the Greater Bay Area. It is China’s intention to build the Greater Bay Area to match the Bay Areas of San Francisco, New York and Tokyo in terms of technological innovation and economic prosperity.
