【讀書筆記】王爾德《自深深處》56
1891年，處在寫作生涯巔峰期的王爾德遇見了阿爾弗雷德·“波西”·道格拉斯(Alfred "Bosie" Douglas)，兩人很快成為了同性戀人。四年后，因?yàn)檫@段“不敢說出名字的愛”，王爾德被判“有傷 風(fēng)化”罪而入獄。在獄中，王爾德開始反思從前的生活，思索痛苦和人生的意義，藝術(shù)和愛的真諦，最終將那些痛苦的淚水都化作優(yōu) 美而深沉的文字，寫成了這封名為"de profundis"(從深處)的長信。
作者簡介：奧斯卡·王爾德(Oscar Wilde, 1854-1900)，英國維多利亞時(shí)代著名作家，“唯美主義 運(yùn)動(dòng)”的領(lǐng)軍人物，倡導(dǎo)“為藝術(shù)而藝術(shù)”(Art for art's sake)。他的代表作有戲劇《莎樂美》(Salome)《認(rèn)真的 重要性》(The Importance of Being Earnest)，童話《快樂王子》(The Happy Prince) 《夜鶯與玫瑰》(The Nightingale and the Rose) ，小說《道連·格雷的畫像》(The Picture of Dorian Gray)，以及書信《自深深處》(De Profundis)等。

I have now written, and at great length, to you?in order that you should realise what you were to me?before my imprisonment, during those three years’?fatal friendship: what you have been to me during?my imprisonment, already, within two moons of its?completion almost: and what I hope to be to myself?and to others when my imprisonment is over. I?cannot reconstruct my letter, or rewrite it. You must?take it as it stands, blotted in many places with?tears, in some with the signs of passion or pain,?and make it out as best you can, blots, corrections?and all. As for the corrections and errata, I have?made them in order that my words should be an?absolute expression of my thoughts, and err neither?through surplusage nor through being?inadequate.?As it stands, at any rate,?my letter has its definite meaning behind every?phase. There is in it nothing of rhetoric. Wherever?there is erasion or substitution, however slight,?however elaborate, it is because I am seeking to?render my real impression, to find for my mood its?exact equivalent. Whatever is first in feeling comes?always last in form.

到此我已經(jīng)給你寫了這么多、而且寫得很詳細(xì)，好讓你領(lǐng)悟到，在我入獄之前，那要命的三年友誼期間，你怎樣待我；在我服刑期間，幾乎再不用兩次月圓就要刑滿了，你怎樣待我；以及出獄之后我希望怎樣對(duì)待自己， 對(duì)待別人。這信我無法重新構(gòu)思，也無法重寫。怎樣寫了你就得怎樣看，許多地方被淚水模糊了，一些地方帶著激情或悲情的痕跡；你得盡量地去理解它，包括涂的、改的，等等等等。至于改正和勘誤，我之所以這么做，是要讓我的話語絕對(duì)地把我的思想表達(dá)出來，既不因?yàn)檠赃^其意，也不因?yàn)檠圆槐M意而出錯(cuò)。無論如何，我的信，就它目前這樣，一詞一語背后都有確定的意思。其中沒有一點(diǎn)巧言虛辭。不管什么地方出現(xiàn)涂或改，不管是多么細(xì)枝末節(jié)，多么用心良苦，都是因?yàn)槲抑庖獋鬟_(dá)出我真切的印象，為我的心境尋找到精確的對(duì)等語。最早感覺到的，不管是什么，總是最后在紙上成形。
