THE BEATLES 1960-1970

為啥叫Beatles?

John loved 'Buddy Holly and the Crickets', so they toyed with insect names. It was John who came up with 'Beetles'. He changed it to 'Beatles' because he said if you turned it round it was 'les beat', which sounded French and cool.

披頭士是史上最偉大、最有影響力的搖滾樂隊。這支利物浦組建的英國搖滾樂隊。根植于民歌爵士樂skiffle music和50年代搖滾（Rock and roll），披頭士探索了各種音樂類型，從流行pop謠曲Ballad到迷幻搖滾Psychedelic rock，經(jīng)常創(chuàng)新地運用經(jīng)典元素。

Harry came up with the band name because he thought the band had to go in "one direction" to win it all. Well, they didn't win the X Factor UK, but they did win the world!

英國、愛爾蘭男子音樂組合。2010年7月23日于歌唱比賽“X音素”（The X Factor）上組成出道。贊恩·馬利克退出后是4個人。

THE ROLLING STONES1962-now

為啥叫滾石？

代表作：Miss You

Little did the Rolling Stones know how apt their name – inspired by the title of a Muddy Waters song, “Rollin' Stone” – would turn out to be. Formed in 1962, they hold the record for longevity as a rock and roll band.

1962年4月在倫敦成立的英國搖滾樂隊。樂隊成立開始時期他們演奏自己改編的藍調(diào)blues、節(jié)奏藍調(diào)Rhythm and Blues(R&B)、鄉(xiāng)村音樂Country music和搖滾樂。，滾石也始終沒有停止從其它音樂形式獲得新的靈感。在他們的音樂中他們吸收了雷鬼音樂Reggae、龐克搖滾Punk Rock和舞曲Dance music的成分。

Coldplay

代表作：viva la vida、Fix You治愈神作

為啥叫酷玩？

The band was originally called Starfish, while a friend's group was called Coldplay. When the other band no longer wanted their name, Starfish asked if they could use it instead. The original Coldplay had taken the name from a book of collected poems.

97年成立于英國倫敦的另類搖滾alternative rock樂隊。早期作品常被與之聲司令、U2等相提并論。八個全英音樂獎、七個格萊美獎、五個MTV音樂錄影帶獎。并積極投身于社會與政治組織活動。

為啥叫皇后？

Queen. Originally called Smile, singer Freddie Mercury came up with the new name for the band, later saying: "Years ago I thought up the name 'Queen'… It's just a name, but it's very regal obviously, and it sounds splendid…It's a strong name, very universal and immediate.

英國搖滾樂樂隊，成立于1971年倫敦，主唱和貝斯手逝世，現(xiàn)只剩下2人。

Oasis 1991-2008

代表作：Don't Look Back in Anger、wonderwall

Liam suggested that the band name be changed to Oasis. This change was inspired by an Inspiral Carpets tour poster that hung in the Gallagher brothers' bedroom. One of the venues the poster listed was the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon, Wiltshire.

1991年成立于曼徹斯特的英國搖滾樂團

8次英國冠軍單曲、7張英國冠軍專輯、15座NME音樂獎、9座Q音樂獎、4座MTV歐洲音樂大獎、6座全英音樂獎（包括2007年的杰出貢獻獎）BBC之聲聽眾票選三十年最佳英國專輯、三度格萊美提名。已解散。
