今天的小詞大用就來聊聊thing的用法！

1.

things
財(cái)產(chǎn)；（個(gè)人的）所有物，用具；成套物品

Let me help you clear away the tea things (= cups, plates, etc. that are used for having tea).
我來幫你收拾茶具。

2.

the real thing真事；真品，非贗品

The fire alarm goes off accidentally so often that when it's the real thing (= when it really does happen) nobody will take any notice.
火災(zāi)報(bào)警器常常瞎響，到時(shí)候真的著火時(shí)發(fā)警報(bào)也沒有人會(huì)注意了。

3.

a thing or two
一些事情；些許知識(shí)，一星半點(diǎn)

She thinks she knows everything about raising children, but I could tell her a thing or two (= some information she does not know).
她覺得自己對(duì)于養(yǎng)育孩子樣樣精通，不過我倒可以讓她見識(shí)一二。

a close/near thing
幾乎發(fā)生的事

The car just missed the child but it was a very close thing.
汽車差點(diǎn)撞著小孩，就差那么一點(diǎn)點(diǎn)。

the thing is
問題是；要緊的是

The thing is, my parents like me to be home by ten o'clock.
問題是，我父母想要我10點(diǎn)前回家。

thingy
那個(gè)人，那個(gè)東西，那個(gè)玩意兒（用于記不清名稱時(shí)）

Can you pass me that thingy - you know, that clip thing for holding papers together.
