在英語名詞性從句學(xué)習(xí)中，我們也經(jīng)常見到whoever，它的意思是：誰，無論誰，任何......人，不管誰......，在意義上大致相當(dāng)于 anybody r可以引導(dǎo)名詞性從句，在從句中可用作主語或賓語，例如：
1.I’ll take whoever wants to go.
誰想去我就帶誰去。
2. The police, or whoever, would not think of looking for him here.
無論是警方還是其他什么人都不會想到來這里找他。
3. You can have whoever you like to visit you.
你想要誰來拜訪你都可以。
4. She can marry whoever she chooses.
她愿意嫁誰就嫁誰。
5. Whoever wants the book may have it.
任何人要這書都可拿去。
6. Whoever comes will be welcome.
誰來都?xì)g迎。
7. Whoever you invite will be welcome.
任何你邀請的人都?xì)g迎。
8. Whoever this woman is, she's made of sterner stuff than I am.

9. Whoever breaks this law deserves a fine.

注意：whoever還有以下幾點(diǎn)用法：
1、 whoever既用作主格也用作賓語(作賓語時不宜用whomever，因?yàn)樵诂F(xiàn)代英語中whomever已幾乎不用)。
2、whoever引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句,意思是“無論誰,不管誰”。
3、whoever用作疑問代詞時,意思是“到底是誰,究竟是誰”,是who的強(qiáng)調(diào)形式。
