【健康】果汁一定比可樂(lè)健康嗎?
The research this morning on that fruit juice you may drink. You might think it's good for you, but it turns out that may not always be the case. Here with more is our own doctor Jennifer Ashton, Hello again.
?
Good morning, Maggie. I want to put the orange juice down for breakfast.
Just for this one. Let's debunk three common myths. The first one really surprised me that it's a myth. Juice is healthier than soda. It's not.
debunk的意思是to show that an idea or belief is false (揭露真相,暴露),我們?nèi)绻靡粋€(gè)普通一點(diǎn)的詞,也可以說(shuō)clear up three myths
Right, it's really not. Now If you just go by calorie to calorie and put them head to head. This is a small glass of coke, compared to grape juice. The soda actually only has 100 calories. The grape juice has 170 calories. So you could be getting a lot more bang for the buck in terms of calories, obviously sugar, in the juice versus the soda.
more bang for the buck
But a lot of people say, yeah, but with juice it's natual sugar, especially when it has no sugar added. Is that true?
Well, there is some truth to that, I mean, obviously there's a lot of chemical in soda. But at the end of the day, you're talking about calories in the form of sweet calories, empty calories--it's really not adding to your nutrition. So you might want to skip it or minimize.
empty calorie: 無(wú)營(yíng)養(yǎng)卡路里 (營(yíng)養(yǎng)含量極低或根本無(wú)營(yíng)養(yǎng)價(jià)值的食物)
Ok, myth No. 2: Juice is just as nutritious as eating the fruit.
Definitely not true. Now most people know that when you eat the actual fruit, you get a lot more fibre and that's largely because of the skin. So when you talking about, let's say an apple, you could be getting 15 times the fibre in the actual apple versus the glass of the apple juice.
So don't remove the skin.
Don't remove the skin. And if you are gonna drink the juice, put it into the juice, so you actually get some of the skin with it.
All right, myth No. 3: Juice is less fattening than skim milk(脫脂牛奶).
Not true. Now skim milk is loaded with protein and again if you are just going calorie and calorie, you're talking about about 120 calories for a mango-peach juice, about 90 calories for skim milk. Again it's a more nutritious choice. And for kids, especially, we shouldn't be lulled into a false sense of security thinking "oh, it's natural. It's coming from fruit." At the end of the day, obesity is a big problem.
lull into (doing sth/sth) 這個(gè)詞組的意思是‘使某人感覺(jué)非常安全,但是最后真相大白的時(shí)候,使人大吃一驚'。
Doctor Jennifer Ashton, thank you so much.
