“司機(jī)一滴酒，親人兩行淚”。最近一段時(shí)間，酒后駕車接連釀慘劇。為了不讓血淋林的慘劇重演，公安部已下令開(kāi)展為期兩個(gè)月的懲治酒后駕車專項(xiàng)行動(dòng)，對(duì)酒后駕車實(shí)行“零容忍”。

據(jù)北京交管局的統(tǒng)計(jì)數(shù)據(jù)，北京今年共有 87 起酒后駕車引發(fā)的車禍致 103 人喪生。在公安部展開(kāi)的“零容忍”打擊行動(dòng)中，酒后駕車的司機(jī)將面臨嚴(yán)厲懲罰。

在上面的報(bào)道中，zero tolerance 就是指“零容忍”，zero tolerance 來(lái)源于 'broken window' theory（破窗理論），就是說(shuō) 一扇窗戶被打破了一直沒(méi)有人管的話，就會(huì)有更多窗戶被打破，所以要從開(kāi)始就對(duì)這種行為采取“零容忍”政策，一旦觸犯就要嚴(yán)懲。

本文中的 zero tolerance 指對(duì) drunk driving（酒后駕車）采取的決不姑息的政策。為整治 drunk driving，有關(guān)部門將對(duì)司機(jī)展開(kāi) random roadside breath testing（路邊隨機(jī)呼氣檢測(cè)），測(cè)定 blood-alcohol content（血液酒精濃度），以查處 drunk driver（酒駕司機(jī)），暫扣或吊銷 driving license（駕照），以減少 traffic fatalities and crashes（交通災(zāi)難和事故）。
