The Showtime horror series ended its run after three seasons with a surprise series finale Sunday night. The Season 3 finale doubled as a series finale, ending with the death of Vanessa Ives (Eva Green).
Showtime電視網(wǎng)的系列劇集在周日晚以第三季最后一集出人意料地迎來了大結局。第三季最后一集的結局也是整個劇集的大結局——以凡妮莎·艾夫斯（伊娃·格林）的死亡結束了《低俗怪談》。

Creator John Logan told Deadline that he had always planned to end the series after three seasons, but the creative team and the network decided to keep that under wraps in order to maintain an element of surprise.
制作人約翰·洛根告訴Deadline他一直就打算只寫三季《低俗怪談》，但是創(chuàng)作團隊和網(wǎng)站決定封鎖這個消息，以此給觀眾來一個出其不意。

"I feel like every show kind of has its own rules and its own rhythms and to say that [the show was ending], given what I knew the ending of Penny Dreadful was going to be, felt like a massive spoiler and it felt disrespectful to the experience that people were having with the show," Logan said.
洛根說：“我覺得每部電視劇都有其自己的規(guī)律和節(jié)奏。因為我自己知道《低俗怪談》的結局會是怎樣，如果說出來的話就算是劇透了，這有點不尊重正在看這部劇的觀眾?！?/div>
