She was knitting a sweater for Tom.
She knitted a sweater for Tom.
He was doing his homework in the afternoon.
He did his homework in the afternoon.
I was writing an essay.
I wrote an essay yesterday.
They were building a skyscraper.
They built a skyscraper.
It snowed all night.
It was snowing all night.
She wore a blue coat.
She was wearing a blue coat.
He felt a bit uneasy.
He was feeling a bit uneasy.
We stayed in a hotel.
We were staying in a hotel.
He was always ringing up.
She was always working.
The old lady was forever grumbling.
He was constantly changing his mind.
I was wondering whether you could give me some advice.
I was thinking maybe he could go by taxi.
I was hoping you could reconsider our proposal.
