These clouded leopard cubs were born on May 12 at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium to mother Chai Li and father Nah Fun, the zoo announced on Wednesday. Their first official portraits were taken on Sunday. The zoo said their weights are between 10 and 12 ounces, "roughly as much as a box of corn flakes."

The cubs’ eyes are not yet open, the zoo said. The genders aren't yet clear, either: "With animals this small, it can sometimes take several days before we can determine their genders for certain," the zoo said on their Facebook page.

The cubs' mother, Chai Li, stopped caring for them, leaving the zoo no choice but to take over. "They are being fed and looked after around the clock by zookeepers with decades of expertise in the hand-rearing of clouded leopards," the zoo said.

In the wild, clouded adult leopards eat birds, monkeys, pigs, cattle, goats, deer and porcupines, according to the Smithsonian Institution.

When this baby grows up, it could weigh up to 28 pounds. Excluding the tail, it could reach 36 inches long. The long tail, which adds another 30 inches to the length, helps them balance when they're prowling the forest trees of their habitat.

Clouded leopards are reclusive cats whose population is hard to know. But they're listed as a vulnerable species. When this baby's full grown, its claws will be so long and sharp that it will be able to hang upside down from trees with them.
