A praying mantis takes its name literally and looks as though it is blessing another insect as they meet on a branch. The two mantises crossed paths when they were moving in opposite directions on the same branch. At first, the brown mantis did not notice the green one coming the other way and attempted to climb over it. Yvonne Spane, who took the photo at her home in Friedrichsdorf, Germany, says she is fascinated by insects and has kept praying mantises for a decade.
