Nowadays, the Internet is playing a more and more important role in people’s daily life. However, people’s opinions are still divided on this point.
Those who are in favor of the Internet claim that it has a lot of advantages. Firstly, information searching is no longer a tough job with the help of all kinds of search engines. Secondly, we can contact friends or business partners via e-mails or software such as Internet Meeting and Yahoo Messenger. Last but not least, we can take part in groups or mailing lists to talk with friends of the same interest.
Those who are opposed to the Internet hold that disadvantages are many. In the first place, the Internet costs considerable time, money and energy especially for those with less self-control. In the second place, surfing on the Internet for a long time harms the eyes a lot. Finally, more and more young people are indulged in online games, Internet chat and even pornography, which are extremely harmful to their future development.

[模板點(diǎn)評(píng)] 這是一篇非常典型的利弊類作文。首段中先寫因特網(wǎng)在人們生活中占有越來越重要的地位。而后又以however轉(zhuǎn)折說明人們的觀點(diǎn)有分歧。第二段和第三段分別以支持者和反對(duì)者的口吻說出了其優(yōu)點(diǎn)和缺點(diǎn)，各分三個(gè)方面。
最后一段包括三句話，先說因特網(wǎng)的優(yōu)點(diǎn)大于缺點(diǎn)，而后說其發(fā)展很快，最后說其前景美好。有許多值得學(xué)習(xí)的模板。第一句是下結(jié)論常用的句子，all in all既可用in a word, in summary, to sum up或in conclusion替代，也可用from what we have discussed above或from all that has been discussed above這樣較復(fù)雜的結(jié)構(gòu)替換。動(dòng)詞outweigh表示“比...重要”，隱含這是比較之后的結(jié)果，而pros and cons非常簡單，效果卻等同于advantages、disadvantages或positive aspects、negative aspects等。第二句中動(dòng)詞witness的用法很生動(dòng)。最后一句是條件狀語從句，同時(shí)請(qǐng)注意await（相當(dāng)于wait for）和make good use of的用法。

[妙筆生花] 第二段分三點(diǎn)來說，第一點(diǎn)中的“search engine”表示“搜索引擎”。第二點(diǎn)中的via表示“通過”。第三點(diǎn)中的“mailing list”表示“郵件列表”。
三段也分三點(diǎn)來說。第一點(diǎn)中的considerable指“大量的”，self-control表示“自控、自制”。第二點(diǎn)中的surfing表示“沖浪”，這里表示“網(wǎng)上沖浪”。第三點(diǎn)中的“be indulged in”表示“沉迷于、沉溺于”，而online games、Internet chat和pornography分別指網(wǎng)上游戲、網(wǎng)絡(luò)聊天和色情。

[文中之思]
這篇文章極為典型，開頭與結(jié)尾都是如此。開頭只說此問題突出，自然后面的過渡句可緊隨其后——人們持不同意見。這樣又與二、三段首句的整齊相呼應(yīng)，非常精妙。二、三段首句均采用those who…的句型，這樣就不必再使用別的手段來連接就可表示對(duì)比（主要的效果是二、三段間不必加一句話過渡的話），非常簡潔。最后一段在首句說利大于弊一定不能就此結(jié)束，這點(diǎn)請(qǐng)大家細(xì)細(xì)琢磨。
這個(gè)題目還可以考成圖表題，寫作方法有所不同——首段是描述圖表，次段很可能是說明因特網(wǎng)發(fā)展的原因（與其優(yōu)點(diǎn)相結(jié)合），三段可能是問題與解決辦法，最后作結(jié)。在看了這篇范文后，這樣的圖表作文大家寫來應(yīng)該是沒有問題的。

1．注意二、三段中連接詞的使用。
2．注意二、三段首句分別使用claim和hold。
3．注意二、三段首句中in favor of與be opposed to可用多種變化。

5．學(xué)習(xí)第三段第二句中的詞匯self-control。
6．第三段末句中的be indulged in可換用be addicted to。
