光看美劇學(xué)英文是不夠滴！^o^口語也要扎實學(xué)

And we can suddenly see the world we’ve left behind so clearly. Of course, most of what’s visible to the dead can also be seen by the living, if they only take the time to look.

3.The peaceful fa?ade of Wisteria Lane had recently been shattered. First by my suicide, and then by the discovery of a note among my belongings that suggested a suspicious reason for my desperate act. My friends gathered to discuss its implications.
——fa?ade 字母c之下有一個重音符號，說明這是一個來自法語的外來語，表示建筑物的正面，引申為事物的表象。The peaceful fa?ade had been shattered. 表面的寧靜被打碎。Implication 這個詞在很多美劇里都會使用，可能因為連續(xù)劇中卻少不了無法言明的情節(jié)吧，所以人們用imply去暗示，而暗示出叫implication的東西，即含義。

4.My friends were right to be concerned. They knew that every family has its secrets. And as my son and husband could’ve told them, you need to think carefully before digging them up. ——be concerned 關(guān)心的 dig sth up挖掘出來

5.After talking for hours, my friends still hadn’t agreed on what to do with the note. So, they decided to talk about it in the morning after a good night’s rest. But no one could fall asleep that night. They each kept thinking of my suicide, and how terribly alone I must’ve felt. You see, loneliness was something my friend’s understood all too well. —— 最后這句倒出絕望主婦們絕望的癥結(jié)，就是寂寞。物質(zhì)得到了極大地滿足，而心靈還處于饑渴狀態(tài)。所以，沒有了物質(zhì)的匱乏感，對于寂寞，這些資產(chǎn)階級上流社會的主婦們理解的很深刻。有些影評里戲謔道，這部戲給了千千萬萬一心向往美國中產(chǎn)階級生活的第三世界國家的人們一針安慰劑，原來美國中產(chǎn)階級的生活如此不幸啊。那只是戲謔而已。其實這部戲是要告訴人們，人生無論多么輝煌，都是伴隨著孤獨的痛苦的，人人都逃脫不了孤獨。而我們這樣第三世界國家的勞動人民，又何嘗不是掙扎在物質(zhì)和心靈都極大的得不到滿足的生活之中呢。這哪里是安慰？

6.Susan awoke that night alone and parched. And as she gazed out her window, she saw the tall drink of water she needed to quench her thirst.
——parched本意是烤焦的，引申為心里煎熬的，或者口渴的，饑渴的，所以后來把Mick比喻成drink of water是很呼應(yīng)的/ gaze out window 從窗口往外凝望/ quench one’s thirst解渴

——很幽默的對聯(lián).
When a man buys a woman expensive jewelery, there are many things he may want in return. For future reference, conversation ain’t one of ‘em.——in return作為回報/ for future reference僅供參考，盡管有many things，可是談心卻 not one of them，很犀利的黑色幽默。

8. Be the way you used to be, surprise me, take my breath away.——take one’s breath away使人吃驚或高興地說不出話來。

——Invite sb over to one’s house 請客/home-cooked meal 和 takeout ordered是一對反義詞/new tradition新傳統(tǒng)，請新鄰居來家里吃外賣，比起請新鄰居來家里吃家常菜來說，是一項創(chuàng)新傳統(tǒng)/ work out the kinks 指請人來家里吃外賣就是Susan一直以來用以解決這些別扭（自己不會做飯還不得不請客）的手法。

10.Julie was glad Susan was rekindling her love life. Of course, she was unaware of her mother’s recent track record with fire.
