Many of the discarded items that find their way to the river are surprising, says John Dubler, a volunteer from the nearby Disney Company. Jack Lebic, a volunteer, says one item stands out. "Tons and tons of plastic bags. I think that's the number one. And they are buried underneath here." It's a yearly effort that's paying off, with a river that once again is starting to look like a river.
