背景介紹：

Today I want to talk something about the dictionary. As the most common tool used in our study of foreign languages, the dictionary plays a very important role and benifits us much. With the speedy development of the society, the dictionary is also undergoing great changes. Now we can not only search one word from a traditional paper dictionary, but also easily get what the word means by an electronic dictionary or just from the online dictionary.

Each of us has our own choice of the dictionary. And I don't want to make a comparison between them. But we must face the fact that more students will prefer the electronic one to paper edition. Will those traditional paper dictionaries be replaced by electronic ones someday?

Personally, I prefer the ED or the web to PD even though I am an English-major student. I am not meant to belittle the value of PDs. All the contents of EDs come from the paper ones, but sometimes EDs may even be somewhat incomplete and inaccurate. We must admit its deficiencies at first, then we can improve it. Let's analyse this problem from anther aspect. Everything needs its own process of updating, and the ED is not the exception. As far as I'm concerned, having undergone the continuous improvement and updates, EDs can almost satisfy all our needs on various words knowledge. Besides, if we can afford the multi-languages PDs, we'll have no need to take two or more paper dictionaries with us in study. It really saves our precious time and energy. Therefore, I'm inclined to use EDs and I always believe, neither EDs nor PDs can decide your level of Foreign language, while the most important point is whether you've understood and practiced those knowledge gained from them.
