I think it is true that in almost every country today each household and family produces a large amount of waste every week. Most of this rubbish comes from the packaging from the things we buy, such as processed food. But even if we buy fresh food without packaging, we still produce rubbish from the plastic bags used everywhere to carry shopping home. The reason why we have so much packaging is that we consume so much more on a daily basis than families did in the past. Convenience is also very important in modern life, so we buy packaged or canned food that can be transported from long distances and stored until we need it, first in the supermarket, and then at home.
我認(rèn)為，如今幾乎在所有國家，各家各戶在每周都會(huì)產(chǎn)生大量垃圾。大部分垃圾來源于我們的購物包裝，譬如加工食品。但是即使我們購買未經(jīng)包裝的新鮮食品，垃圾仍然會(huì)由于我們使用塑料袋而產(chǎn)生，人們到處使用這些塑料袋來將所購物品帶回家。 我們之所以會(huì)產(chǎn)出如此多的包裝垃圾，是因?yàn)槲覀兠刻鞂ι唐返南牧勘冗^去的家庭的消耗量要多得多。另外，便利性在現(xiàn)代生活中顯得尤為重要。因此，我們會(huì)購買那些能夠長途運(yùn)輸過來的袋裝或罐頭食品，先是在超市里，然后是在家里，一直儲(chǔ)存到我們想吃的時(shí)候。
