Coldplay and Duffy are Q music award winners

In an uncharacteristic bout of chest-beating, Coldplay's frontman, Chris Martin, declared his band "the best in the world" while picking up the two main prizes at yesterday's Q awards.

But after winning the best act and best album awards, Martin reverted to the modesty that inspires devotion from fans but mockery from some critics, speculating that they only won because U2 and Radiohead were "on holiday".
