話題:

1 Have you hit by these stray bullet(流彈)? Share some interesting experiences with us.
OR 2 If these signs apply to you, do you admit that you are ageing. Give us your ideas and reasons.
OR 3 Retrospect to your youth, have your dreams come true, if you accept the fact that you are not young any more? Whatever the result, tell us your perspective on it.
OR 4 In your mind, what's the difference between getting older and growing up?

范例1:

Although I resent accepting the fact, all of these signs apply to me, which drive me unable either to cry or to laugh. When I chat with my friends, I always try to tell them something interesting I heard from the Internet. But, usually, in the next second, I forget about what I am going to say. Worried and sad, this kind of situation hurts me a lot. However, these external features do not mean I am mature enough. Up to now, I am not yet free from dependence on my parents spiritually, maybe sometimes financially. This topic reminds me of the lines said by Leon, a famous role in the movie. He said, “I’m old enough. I need time to grow up.” I need more time to grow up, too. Moreover, it is no use crying over spilt milk, the time having gone. Today is the first day of the rest of my life. So let bygones be bygones, and just go for what to come.

范例2:

?? Over half of the situations mentioned above fit in my case. However, it’s not necessarily true that I am aging. Though most situations suggest that I am less passionate and less energetic, it would be more appropriate to deem the way I behave as one of maturity. When I was younger, I loved to watch soap operas and other entertaining programs but now as my interests and knowledge expand, I prefer serious media production such as documentaries (I strongly recommend BBC and NHK!). Also, I used to be fascinated with fashionable clothes and pop songs but now I love comfortable clothes which make me look simple and easygoing because I feel bad to look superior to others. I listen to instrumental music often now for it really makes you feel calm and pure.
? I don’t have to feel bad being hit by these stray bullets because I know they are a sign of growing up instead of aging.

范例3:

With the impact of strong work pressure and less leisure time, nowdays, more and more young people begin to get old at an early age. For example, they're gradually less likely to catch up with the latest news, they are inclined to pick comfortable clothes or shoes rather than fashionable ones or they always need a nap after lunch. In fact, due to the fast pace of life, modern people tend to become older than their actual age. People always live in a tense state that their bodies are unlikely to bear the heavy burden. In this regard, I believe that it is necessary to balance the relations between work and life. Only when we stop and enjoy the life can the hard work have its real significance. After all, we work to live, not live to work.

范例4:

?? People are always talking about the problem of age, especially the shade between "getting older" and "growing up". It is commonly seen that the young natuarally prefer using "I am growing up" when certain "mature" things or feelings hit them while the old would generally say "I am getting older" as a self-mockery: and perhaps that is where the rub is.
?? The man who claims that he is growing up cherishes his experiences, good or bad, and regards them as his precious deposits. He achieves a unique identity of himself from his experiences which he is busily engaged in seeking, and welcomes his subsequent life with it. However, for a person who admits that he is getting older, it is somewhat abject. It occurs to him the fear of death, who has known human joys and sorrows, and the thought of getting older seems to suggest his unwilling farewell to the world. There seems to be a mountain, where growing up presents him a splendid future before him while getting older leaves a glorious future behind him.
