瑪格麗特·撒切爾（Margaret Thatcher，1925－2013）是英國保守黨第一位女領袖，也是英國歷史上第一位女首相，她連任三屆，任期11年。若只以連續(xù)而單一的任期計算，則是自19世紀初葉利物浦伯爵以來任職時間最長的英國首相。2004年，在MORI的一個調(diào)查中，撒切爾的評價在20世紀英國首相中位列第四。

Margaret Hilda Thatcher was a British politician who was the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Conservative Party. She was the longest-serving British Prime Minister of the 20th century and is the only woman to have held the office.

A Soviet journalist called her the "Iron Lady", a nickname that became associated with her uncompromising politics and leadership style. As Prime Minister, she implemented policies that have come to be known as Thatcherism.

Thatcher became the first woman to serve as the opposition leader in the House of Commons. As party leader, Thatcher made history in May 1979, when she was appointed Britain's first female prime minister.

Margaret Thatcher died on April 8, 2013, at the age of 87. Thatcher's policies and actions continue to be debated by detractors and supporters alike, illustrating the indelible impression that she has left on Britain and nations worldwide.
