The top leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Kim Jong Un has met with Chinese Vice-President Li Yuanchao in Pyongyang.

Li arrived in the DPRK’s capital on Thursday to attend activities marking the 60th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice. Li noted that, as a neighbour of the Korean Peninsula, China persists in the realization of its denuclearization and the maintenance of its peace and stability. Li said China would like to push for the resumption of the Six-Party Talks.

Kim said that the DPRK values its traditional friendship with China and that the country is dedicated to developing its economy and improving its people’s lives. The DPRK said it supports China’s efforts to restart the Six-Party Talks.
