背景介紹:
Last weekend people in Canada and all Christian countries were celebrating the Easter, while this weekend you are enjoying the Qingming holiday in China. We can imagine that the traditions of these two festivals and holidays can be quite different, but what about the ways people celebrate and enjoy them?
話題:
1.How do you or people around you celebrate the festival or spend their holiday?
2.How is it different from the way foreigners celebrate a festival or spend their holiday?
范例1:
Seeing the "deserted" streets and malls in Canada last weekend, I was finally sure about the existence of something called culture shock. I had been feeling quite comfortable since the moment I entered the country, until the Easter came. This three-day holiday is from Friday to Sunday, which are respectively known as Good Friday and Easter Sunday. During the Easter, Saturday may be the only day that you could see people on the streets and malls open, as almost all the people, including waiters, supermarket cashiers and even subway drivers, have the chance to take a break on Friday and Sunday. Natives would usually prefer to be spending some quality time with their family, while in China, the most popular way to spend a three-day holiday may be shopping, or shopping online—I am not judging anyone by saying this. In fact, it proved to be a delightful tradition that Chinese restaurants here would still open on holidays. And believe me, they ARE crowded even in this sparsely populated country.
范例2:
Festivals are priceless gifts from God to all walks of life who are exhausted by swift pace of modern life. It's not unusual that individuals do their utmost to take full use of the festival day-offs to relax themselves. Purchasing is of regularity along with seeking for delicacies while hiking is the prosperous way to celebrate festivals, which are available to mentally entertainment as well as physically exercise at the same time. As a result of this, people can go back to work with full refreshment, which is the meaning of festivals in such a stressful era.
