Hello everyone and welcome to Xiaoming English.I’m your teacher Ming.

So the first section of today’s class is called Hello Slang and the slang for today is “sketch”, which is also used as “sketchy”. Calling something sketch is saying that it was done very quickly, it’s not complete. So as a slang, it means something is not working, or doesn’t look very good.

Let’s try using them in a sentence. For example, if I’m on the computer. If that website doesn’t feel quite right, you can say whoa, that website looks sketch.

I don’t want to give any of my personal information.

Today we are going to talk about William Randolph Hearst.

Mr. Hearst built what was once the nation's largest newspaper business. He bought newspapers in different parts of the United States.

And he spent millions of dollars to gain readers in sometimes very shocking ways. And in the end, he was a very successful businessman and changed American newspapers forever.

His father was rich for developing mines. And he had everything he wanted as a child.

He was very rich, but he was also a little rebellious. He was expelled from Harvard university for playing a joke on the professor.

When he was 23 years old, he gained control of a San Francisco newspaper. And it was from his father.

He hired the best reporters and bought the best equipment.Because he believed in doing anything he could to get more readers.

Interesting fact William Hearst created a kind of newspaper that is called yellow journalism.Yellow journalism is when you exaggerate a story.

From using this kind of journalism, he is accused by some to be responsible for the Spanish-American War that took place in 1898.

There was an American ship that sank and before Hearst knew for what had happened. His newspaper reported that it was the Spanish who sank the ship.

This report incited the American people’s anger towards the Spanish and spurred on the start of the war.His influence to the media industry still affects us today.

Now, the Hearst Corporation still owns more than 150 businesses including newspapers, magazines, radio and TV stations.

Now let’s talk about today’s sentence structure.

So, here’s our first example:The mechanism by which brain cells store memories is not clearly understood.

So the basic structure is

For example
