Amazon launched its app store in China over the weekend of May 4-5 and, at the same time, debuted a Chinese-language website for developers.

The Chinese app store, follows the launch of Cloud Drive in the country last month and roll-out of the Kindle Store in China at the end of 2012.

Though the Kindle Store has been available in China for several months, along with iOS and Android versions of the Kindle app, the device itself is not yet currently available in the country. However the launch of the Amazon app store in China further fuels speculation that Chinese consumers may soon be able to purchase a Kindle within China.
The launch of Amazon's app store puts it in competition in the territory with Apple, which launched its app store in China back in 2010. ?

去年12月,亞馬遜開設了中文版的Kindle圖書商店。去年6月,中國廣電總局批準了4款Kindle。亞馬遜中國前負責人表示,公司希望在2年內(nèi)引入Kindle。

雖然亞馬遜品牌在美國叫得很響,但在中國電子商務市場還屬于籍籍無名之輩。它面臨著本地競爭對手如淘寶網(wǎng)、360商城和其他網(wǎng)絡商城的激烈競爭,淘寶網(wǎng)和360商城均出售電子書產(chǎn)品。

中國市場也已經(jīng)成熟,本地應用商店很多,其中有些是由手機廠商和電信運營商開設的。亞馬遜在推出中文版應用商店的同時還增加了更多本地化的產(chǎn)品,應用商店里列出了新浪微博和視頻共享服務的軟件,但是沒有美國的流行應用如Netflix和Twitter。
