MARVEL HAS SAID not to look too deeply into how serious the first trailer was for “Iron Man 3,” emphasizing that this will be a fun film to hit the trilogy mark with.

After seeing the latest “IM3” trailer that hit the Interwebs on Tuesday, though, this looks like an extremely intense movie.

For fans who knew Iron Man long before Robert Downey Jr. suited up, it’s thrilling to see elements from some of his greatest comic-book scenes brought into the film — especially Extremis and the presence of the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) and the Iron Patriot (Don Cheadle).
