The last time I sat in my stylist’s chair, she told me all about the most common hair care mistakes, making me feel a little guilty about the ones I know I commit from time to time. Now that I know them, of course, I’m trying to avoid them, but if you’re still in the dark, or just want to make sure you’re in the clear with your own stylist, keep reading! Here are the 9 most common hair care mistakes.

1. Too much heat
過分受熱
The hair dryer, the flat iron, the curling iron: all of these can cause heat damage to your hair, so why do we use them every day, sometimes more than once a day? All of this heat, especially if you don’t use a product to protect your hair from heat damage, has earned itself a spot at the top of my list of the most common hair care mistakes. If you must use heat to dry, curl, or straighten your hair, use a product that protects your hair from heat damage.
吹風機、直發(fā)棒、卷發(fā)棒——所有這些工具產(chǎn)生的熱量都有損頭發(fā),那我們干嘛每天都用、甚至有時一天用幾次呢?如果你還不使用產(chǎn)品加以保護,頭發(fā)受到的熱損傷會更嚴重。我自己就將以上所有熱源列為常見護發(fā)誤區(qū)之最。如果你必須使用電吹風、卷發(fā)棒或直發(fā)棒,請使用產(chǎn)品保護頭發(fā)免受熱損傷吧。
2. Washing too often
頻繁洗發(fā)
Unless you have very oily hair, you don’t need to wash your hair every day. Over-washing can dry your hair, making it brittle, so only wash when you have to. I wash every other day, but if you have long hair, you might even be able to go another day between washings. Need a little boost between washings? Try a dry shampoo.
除非你是油性發(fā)質(zhì),否則根本沒必要天天洗。洗得太頻繁會使頭發(fā)干枯易斷,所以還是控制一下吧。我自己每兩天洗一次頭。但如果你有一頭長發(fā),或許還可以再拖一天洗。不洗頭怎么護理?試試干洗發(fā)露吧。
3. Skipping conditioner
不用護發(fā)素
When you do wash your hair, it’s important to use conditioner, every time. Skipping conditioner can make your hair dull, dry, and prone to tangles.
每次洗頭發(fā)一定要用護發(fā)素,這非常重要。頭發(fā)不涂護發(fā)素容易干燥分叉,而且看上去毫無生氣。
4. Brushing too much
頻繁梳頭
When my grandmother was young, she was taught to brush her hair 100 strokes before bed each night. Now we know this is way too much to brush! Over-brushing can make your hair staticy, and it can lead to split ends and breakage. Brush only when you have to, and make sure you’re using the right brush for your hair.
在我奶奶年輕的時候,據(jù)說每晚睡覺前得梳100下頭發(fā)?,F(xiàn)在我們知道那也梳太多了!頭發(fā)梳得太多會起靜電,最后分叉折斷。需要時再梳頭,而且一定要用對梳子哦。
5. Brushing when wet
濕著頭發(fā)梳理
More about brushing: never, ever use a brush on wet hair! Instead, use a wide-tooth comb, which won’t damage your hair like a brush can. Start at the bottom, and work your way up, while your hair is still wet, and don’t tug at tangles (more about this later)!
還是關(guān)于梳頭:千萬、千萬別在頭發(fā)濕著的時候用密齒梳梳頭!相反應(yīng)該使用闊齒梳,這樣頭發(fā)就不會受到像密齒梳造成的那種傷害。頭發(fā)濕著的時候要先從發(fā)梢慢慢梳起,以免拉扯打結(jié)(詳見后續(xù))!
6. Skipping trims
不加修剪
This is the hair mistake I am most guilty of – skipping trims. Even if you’re trying to grow out your hair, regular trims are important to keep your hair looking and feeling healthy. In fact, if you are trying to grow your hair, like me, regular trims can help keep your hair in shape, and add style, so you’re not frustrated with it, and tempted to cut it again. Visit your stylist for a trim at least every 8 weeks.
這是我最感愧疚的護發(fā)誤區(qū)——不加修剪。即便你想留長發(fā),定期修剪也很重要,這能使頭發(fā)保持光澤健康。其實,要是你跟我一樣想留長發(fā),定期修剪不僅能使頭發(fā)保持有型、跟進潮流,這樣你就不會因為頭發(fā)心煩,總想著要不要干脆再去剪短一些。每8周就該去發(fā)型師那兒修剪一次頭發(fā)了。
7. Not going seasonal
不注意季節(jié)變換
The change of seasons may be pretty, but it can wreak havoc on your tresses, so be sure to use products that protect your hair all year round. For instance, in summer, you might need a shampoo to get rid of chlorine from swimming in the pool, or a product with SPF to protect your hair from the sun. In winter, you’ll want a rich conditioner to prevent fly-aways and static. You’ll also want to use a de-frizz product on humid days.
四季變換或許很迷人,但卻有損秀發(fā),所以一定要用產(chǎn)品全年呵護。比如,夏季你可能要用能去除游泳池漂白成分的洗發(fā)水,或使用防曬產(chǎn)品保護秀發(fā)免受日曬。冬季你則需要滋潤的護發(fā)素防止秀發(fā)靜電毛躁,而濕潤的氣候下又得使用防卷曲產(chǎn)品了。
8. Being too tough with tangles
頭發(fā)生澀打結(jié)
Remember when I mentioned how to handle wet hair? I said it’s important not to tug at tangles. That goes for dry hair, too, not just wet hair! If you have a bad tangle, don’t just pull at it, since this can cause breakage (and a headache!). Use a de-tangling spray, then gently work the tangle out. That’s better!
還記得上面講的如何打理濕發(fā)嗎?我講到千萬不要使頭發(fā)打結(jié)。不僅是濕發(fā),干了的頭發(fā)也不能打結(jié)!如果你頭發(fā)打結(jié)厲害,別去硬扯,否則不僅會扯斷頭發(fā),還可能引發(fā)頭痛。使用對付頭發(fā)打結(jié)的噴霧,噴幾下然后再慢慢梳理開來,這樣會好很多!
9. Living la vita loca
作息不規(guī)律
I’m not suggesting you become a goody-two-shoes just for the sake of your hair, but smoking, drinking too much, and skimping on sleep can really take a toll on your body, including your hair. If you do over-indulge, and your hair pays the price, splurge on a hot oil treatment or deep conditioner to mitigate the damage.
我并不是要你為了一頭秀發(fā)去當什么乖孩子,但過度吸煙喝酒或經(jīng)常熬夜確實傷身,當然對頭發(fā)也有害。如果你確實嗜好過度,頭發(fā)肯定會受影響,最好選用熱油護理或深層護發(fā)素加以修復吧。
