What is the correct position in a
sentence of the word “also”?
”also”這個(gè)詞在句子中正確的位置在哪兒?
One of the most common mistakes
associated with word order is the tendency to put adverbs in the wrong place. This
particularly applies to the word “also”, but other adverbs are commonly
misplaced too.
單詞順序最常見的錯(cuò)誤之一是把副詞放在錯(cuò)誤的位置。這個(gè)問題對(duì)”also”特別常見,不過其他副詞也會(huì)被放錯(cuò)地方。
Consider the following examples with “also”:
思考一下下面幾個(gè)有”also”的例子:

As these examples show, “also” should go between the
subject and the verb, NOT after the verb. The next examples – with other adverbs – follow the same
pattern:
像上面的這些例句一樣,“also”應(yīng)該位于主語(yǔ)和動(dòng)詞之間,而不是動(dòng)詞之后。下面的幾個(gè)例句——句中有其他副詞——也遵照相同的準(zhǔn)則。

There is, of course, an exception to this rule. When the verb is “to be” the adverb usually goes after the verb:
當(dāng)然這個(gè)規(guī)則是有例外的。當(dāng)動(dòng)詞為”to be”時(shí),副詞經(jīng)常出現(xiàn)在動(dòng)詞后面:
她在兼并收購(gòu)方面也是一位經(jīng)驗(yàn)豐富的顧問。
The client is
often unable to sign documents at short notice due to
extensive foreign travel.
由于大量出差,這位客戶經(jīng)常不能一接到通知就簽合同。
When a sentence has an
auxiliary verb and a main verb, it is usual to put adverbs between them. For example:
當(dāng)句子中有一個(gè)輔助動(dòng)詞和一個(gè)主要?jiǎng)釉~,副詞經(jīng)常被放在兩個(gè)動(dòng)詞之間。比如說:
We have finally completed the project.
我們終于完成了這個(gè)項(xiàng)目。
Here “have” is the auxiliary verb and “completed” is the main verb; “have completed” is the present perfect tense.
在這里”have”是輔助動(dòng)詞而“completed”是主要?jiǎng)釉~,“have completed”是現(xiàn)在完成時(shí)。
