Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson is taking a break from the tireless search for "A" to romance someone from How I Met Your Mother, TVLine reports.

Benson, 22, will play an unconventional love interest for one member of the gang in the Jan. 21 episode. Could it be Barney (Neil Patrick Harris)? Or Ted (Josh Radnor)? Or maybe even Robin (Cobie Smulders)? Hey! It could happen.

In other casting news, the show's make-up department head Jennifer Turchi tweeted news that two familiar faces would be returning: Ray Wise as Robin's dad and Rachel Bilson as Ted's former student. CBS would not confirm their returns, but co-creator Carter Bays did tell that someone from Ted's past will have a "big influence on his search for the mother." Hmmmm...
