A high-speed rail service linking Wuhan and Zhengzhou in central China has opened. The Wuhan-Zhengzhou line is one section of the high-speed rail service that will connect Beijing to Shenzhen in the south by the end of the year.

The bullet train is capable of traveling at speeds of up to 300 kilometers per hour, and cuts the current 4-hour travel time between Wuhan and Zhengzhou by more than half. The opening of the high-speed service means there are now trains leaving Wuhan for Zhengzhou every twenty minutes.
