1. Take the first step to approach your boss and discuss your problem. Collect facts on your current workload, project requirements. Be prepared to explain how the increase in workload is impacting your performance and project quality, and how this can impact the company's cost objectives. When you have every detail in place, be ready to meet your boss.
首先想辦法跟你的上級(jí)討論這個(gè)問(wèn)題。搜集與你現(xiàn)在的工作量、項(xiàng)目要求相關(guān)的資料,并且想好該怎么表達(dá)這些工作量已經(jīng)影響到了你的工作表現(xiàn)和項(xiàng)目質(zhì)量,又會(huì)怎樣影響公司的目標(biāo)成本。當(dāng)你準(zhǔn)備好一切,就去找你的上司吧。
2. Choose a time of the day when you know your boss is usually in a good mood. Ensure that you have your boss' full attention to the problem. If he is doing some other work such as sorting his emails while you are talking, say politely and firmly, "Stewart, I have an important problem to discuss. I would appreciate if you could give me your full attention."
選擇你上司通常心情比較好的時(shí)間段。你要確保他的注意力全都在你的問(wèn)題上。如果你跟他討論這件事的時(shí)候他還在做別的事,比如說(shuō)看郵件,你可以禮貌卻肯定的說(shuō):“斯圖爾特,我要與你討論很重要的事。能不能先把其他事放下,這樣我會(huì)非常感激的?!?/div>
3. Get to the point without wasting time. "I'm not able to tackle the present workload Stewart. I'm putting in more than 60 hours of work every week. If this continues, my performance will take a downturn as I will be completely at the end of my capabilities. I cannot take any more of this." Remember to put across your problem as your problem alone and not as a complaint against the management or your boss.
直入重點(diǎn)。“斯圖爾特,現(xiàn)在的工作負(fù)荷我承受不了。每周我都要在工作上花費(fèi)超過(guò)60小時(shí)的時(shí)間。如果這種情況繼續(xù)的話,我的工作表現(xiàn)會(huì)大打折扣,因?yàn)橐晕业哪芰Ω久Σ贿^(guò)來(lái)。這種情況不能再發(fā)生了?!眲e忘了說(shuō)你只是工作情況不佳,和你上次和管理層的決策沒(méi)有關(guān)系。
4. Show your boss facts that support your stand. Listen to what he has got to say. Avoid getting emotional if your boss does not give an immediate solution for the problem and says he will get back to you soon. It helps to understand his point of view as well. The increase in workload may be the result of the company's policy to cut costs but increase productivity simultaneously. Your boss may be genuinely inclined to act fair now that he is aware of the problem.
用事實(shí)證明你的觀點(diǎn)。聽(tīng)聽(tīng)你上司會(huì)說(shuō)什么,如果他沒(méi)有立即給出解決方案并讓你等消息,不要生氣。這也能讓你理解他的立場(chǎng)。工作量的增加可能是公司消減成本提高效率的結(jié)果。既然你的上司已經(jīng)意識(shí)到這個(gè)問(wèn)題,他會(huì)公正處理的。
5. Present any solutions from your side for the problem if you have some. You could even request your boss to help you prioritize workloads so that critical tasks get done first.
如果你已經(jīng)想到解決方案,就說(shuō)出來(lái)。你甚至可以讓你的上司把你的工作按重要程度分一下,這樣就能把最重要的工作先做好。
6. Thank your boss for his time at the end of the meeting. If your boss says he needs time to think about what you have said, ask him how soon you can expect a response. Send an email expressing your thanks for your boss' time once you reach your desk.
最后感謝一下你的上司。如果他說(shuō)需要時(shí)間考慮你的事,你可以問(wèn)他什么時(shí)候可以收到答復(fù)。你從他辦公室出來(lái)回到自己辦公桌時(shí),最好給他發(fā)一封郵件感謝他抽出時(shí)間討論你的問(wèn)題。
