不少家長(zhǎng)問(wèn)我,孩子聽(tīng)我講讀《夏洛的網(wǎng)》,以及《哈利波特與魔法石》,每節(jié)課要學(xué)到什么程度,才算“過(guò)關(guān)”呢?作為家長(zhǎng),怎么知道孩子有沒(méi)有“過(guò)關(guān)”呢?

我以《夏洛的網(wǎng)》為例,說(shuō)明每節(jié)課的“過(guò)關(guān)”標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。我把《夏洛的網(wǎng)》分成 37 課,每節(jié)課 20 分鐘。當(dāng)然,家長(zhǎng)可以根據(jù)孩子的實(shí)際水平,調(diào)整課時(shí)進(jìn)度。有的一年級(jí)小朋友,用 2 天學(xué)完一課,也就是每天學(xué) 10 分鐘,這也是可以的。

不管孩子幾天學(xué)完一課,孩子學(xué)完一課之后,應(yīng)該能把這一課的英文看下來(lái)。如果孩子學(xué)完一課之后,仍感到某些詞句還很陌生,那就要重新把這一課再學(xué)一遍,一直學(xué)到孩子能獨(dú)立把所學(xué)的英文看下來(lái)為止。

家長(zhǎng)不要苛求孩子每課只學(xué)一遍,就能自己獨(dú)立看下來(lái)。不少孩子把每一課重復(fù)學(xué)了三遍,才能勉強(qiáng)通讀。

孩子反復(fù)學(xué)完一課之后,媽媽可以讓孩子講講這一課的內(nèi)容。比如,《夏洛的網(wǎng)》第 27 課一開(kāi)始,有這樣的文字:

“Let's let the children go off by themselves,” suggested Mr. Arable. “The Fair only comes once a year.” Mr. Arable gave Fern two quarters and two dimes. He gave Avery five dimes and four nickels. “Now run along!” he said. “And remember, the money has to last all day. Don't spend it all the first few minutes. And be back here at the truck at noontime so we can all have lunch together. And don't eat a lot of stuff that's going to make you sick to your stomachs.”?

“And if you go in those swings,” said Mrs. Arable, “you hang on tight! You hang on very tight. Hear me?”

“And don't get lost!” said Mrs. Zuckerman. “And don't get dirty!”

“Don't get overheated!” said their mother.

“Watch out for pickpockets!” cautioned their father.

“And don't cross the race track when the horses are coming!” cried Mrs. Zuckerman.?

The children grabbed each other by the hand and danced off in the direction of the merry-go-round, toward the wonderful music and the wonderful adventure and the wonderful excitement, into the wonderful midway where there would be no parents to guard them and guide them, and where they could be happy and free and do as they pleased. Mrs. Arable stood quietly and watched them go. Then she sighed. Then she blew her nose.

“Do you really think it's all right?” she asked.

“Well, they've got to grow up some time,” said Mr. Arable. “And a fair is a good place to start, I guess.”

有位媽媽?zhuān)诤⒆影训?27 課認(rèn)真學(xué)過(guò)幾遍之后,問(wèn)孩子能不能看懂上面的文字,孩子表示能看懂;媽媽又隨機(jī)考考單詞,孩子也明白單詞的意思,這就表明孩子第 27 課“過(guò)關(guān)”了,孩子可以進(jìn)入第 28 課的學(xué)習(xí)。

我想強(qiáng)調(diào)一點(diǎn),媽媽檢查孩子每一課學(xué)習(xí)效果的時(shí)候,要多給孩子鼓勵(lì),別讓孩子壓力過(guò)大。用原版書(shū)學(xué)英語(yǔ),這本身就是很大的進(jìn)步,孩子只要天天學(xué),家長(zhǎng)就不必著急孩子的學(xué)習(xí)進(jìn)度。

有的媽媽性子急,跟我說(shuō):“孩子學(xué)《夏洛》,都快兩個(gè)月了,才學(xué)到第 10 課?!?/p>

我說(shuō):“孩子就這么穩(wěn)扎穩(wěn)打,學(xué)習(xí)速度一定會(huì)越來(lái)越快,六年級(jí)之前,保證能把《哈利波特》啃下來(lái),你完全不用著急。再說(shuō),很多初一的孩子,讀原版《夏洛》仍然難點(diǎn)重重,你孩子才小學(xué)二年級(jí),已然很優(yōu)秀了!” >>李岑老師的節(jié)目<<
