本期我們要學習的詞組是turn to。

turn to在句中表示“尋求幫助/建議”。通常用法是turn to somebody (for something)：

The intern came across a problem in her project, so she?turned to me for advice and help.
實習生做項目時遇到了問題，于是向我請求建議和幫助。

Afraid of his strict father, the little boy always turns to his mother for help whenever he gets in trouble.
小男孩害怕他嚴厲的父親，每當遇到麻煩，總向母親求助。

You can turn to the dictionary when you're not sure about the meaning of a word.
當你遇到意思不確定的單詞時，你可以查字典。

Since their problem?could?not?be solved by negotiation, they turned to law.
談判無法解決問題，他們便訴諸法律。

事實上，turn to有很多不同的用法，它的基本意思是“轉(zhuǎn)向”，既可以指具體的將身體轉(zhuǎn)向某個方位，也可以指抽象的話題、注意力等的轉(zhuǎn)移。例如：

They turned to the valley and was amazed at the breathtaking scenery.
他們轉(zhuǎn)向山谷，為那令人窒息的美景感到驚訝。

He is a super football fan. If you talk to him, your topic will turn to footbal in no more than 3 minutes.
他是個超級足球迷。如果你和他聊天，不出三分鐘，你們的話題就會轉(zhuǎn)向足球。

He soon turned his attention to the difficult problem.
他很快把注意力轉(zhuǎn)到這個難題上。

turn to還有一個常見的意思是“變成”：

A foul morning may turn to a fair day.
陰霾的早晨可能變成晴朗的一天。

Green summer leaves turn to gold in autunm.
夏天青翠的葉子在秋天變得金黃。
