1.通常放在動詞前面。

2.放在連系動詞be或can,may,must will等助動詞和情態(tài)動詞后面。

She is seldom ill.她很少生病。

3.sometimes可以放在句首,也可以放在句中或句末。

例如:

4.often可以放在句末,表示加強語氣。

例如:

I haven't been there very often.我并不常去那兒。

5.seldom,never可以放在句首,表示加強語氣,但句子要用倒裝語序。

例如:

Seldom have I met him in the street.我很少在街上碰見他。

Never has our great motherland been so prosperous as it is today.我們偉大的祖國從來沒有像今天這樣繁榮昌盛。

6.ever多用于疑問、否定及條件句中。

例如:

Have you ever been to Beijing?你曾到過北京嗎?

7. ever放在疑問詞后面,起強調(diào)作用。

例如:

Who ever can it be?到底是誰?

What ever do you mean?你究竟什么意思?
