往年的四、六級(jí)寫作出現(xiàn)過幾次圖表作文。這次六級(jí)寫作采用了漫畫作文。這似乎是一種全新的形式。

其實(shí),漫畫也罷,圖表也罷,只是換了一個(gè)馬甲。漫畫或圖表只是穿針引線,本質(zhì)上它們和傳統(tǒng)的命題作文沒有任何區(qū)別。對(duì)這種文章,我們只是在首段中稍微提及漫畫大致內(nèi)容就可:

As is depicted in the cartoon, the girl, instead of answering her dad directly, tells her father to read her blog when asked about her performance in school.

正如四、六級(jí)委員會(huì)主任楊慧中在一篇文章中所指出的那樣,“對(duì)圖表數(shù)據(jù)寫得越細(xì)致的考生得分有越低的傾向”,我認(rèn)為一般考生不宜于對(duì)漫畫做過與細(xì)致的描寫。以往的經(jīng)驗(yàn)告訴我們,很多初學(xué)者可以來(lái)幾句籠統(tǒng)的因果分析,卻很難寫幾句具體的描寫,這就是為什么2004年的四級(jí)作文“描寫一個(gè)旅游景點(diǎn)”被考生視為史上最難得原因。

文章的重點(diǎn)還是主體段落的因果分析。如這次四級(jí)作文“過度包裝”的中間部分就可以同時(shí)分析這種現(xiàn)象的原因和影響。但這次的六級(jí)作文明確要求寫“impact”。大家知道,影響可以有正反之分。其實(shí),這道題和2009年的考研寫作“網(wǎng)絡(luò)的近與遠(yuǎn)”如出一轍。所不同者:考研作文中的圖畫中我們看到的不是父女對(duì)答,而是無(wú)數(shù)人類都在一張巨大的蛛網(wǎng)上忙碌。可謂異曲同工。其實(shí),四、六級(jí)作文與考研題目的巧合遠(yuǎn)非這一次。2009年的考研寫作中的書信寫作主題就和2008年四級(jí)作文“On Disposable Products”完全相同。

某種程度上,巧合是一種必然。

2011年12月四、六級(jí)寫作主題“Strong Will Is the Key to Success” 就是新東方四級(jí)寫作教材第十三篇范文“The Way to Success”。這次的六級(jí)考試作文題目又和新東方四級(jí)教材第三十篇范文“The Internet”完全相同。一下是教材原文:

Owing to the speedy economic development, the number of people who use the Internet has considerably increased. It is universally acknowledged that the Internet plays a crucial role in modern society.

Due attention has to be paid to the issue of the Internet. With the reform and opening-up in recent decades, people in mounting numbers have come to realize the significance of the Internet. Unfortunately, if we let this situation continue as it is, we do not know where humans will be in the forthcoming future.

Accordingly, it is imperative for us to take drastic measures. To begin with, we should appeal to the authorities to make strict laws to control the Internet. In addition, we should cultivate the awareness of people that the Internet is essential to us. Only in this way can we solve the problem.

當(dāng)然這篇文章有它的缺憾:空洞。但空洞的文章也有一個(gè)“好處”:稍加增減就可以“變身”為一篇同樣題材的新作。實(shí)際上,這篇文章字?jǐn)?shù)138,作為六級(jí)作文字?jǐn)?shù)稍短。增加一點(diǎn)網(wǎng)絡(luò)交流的影響就是一篇高分作文。那么,增加什么呢?這很簡(jiǎn)單。在我們的課堂中,會(huì)分門別類的介紹各種題材的相關(guān)內(nèi)容。如科技類話題的:Instead of waiting weeks for a letter, we can “talk” with our friends at every corner of the world thanks to the advent of the Internet. Unfortunately, while facilitating communication, this new invention also alienates people because, when we are attracted by the virtual world, we are likely to be left with less time to stay with people in the real world.

這樣的觀點(diǎn),不僅討論“網(wǎng)絡(luò)交流”可以用,考到其他科技話題也可以用。這樣,當(dāng)我們就各種主題都積累一些材料以后,考題的“巧合”就成為“必然”。 ?
