For those always on the look-out for new dining experiences, this might just be for you...Unless, that is, you have a fear of heights. Rain or shine, famous chefs from around Brussels are preparing and serving five-course meals on a suspended platform overlooking the city. Adventurous diners have the chance to enjoy lunch or dinner while suspended up to 50 metres in the air.

This month in Brussels, the term "fine dining" takes on a new meaning...

Guests at "Dinner in the Sky" can wine and dine with a different view of the city each week, including the Royal Palace and Brussels’ famed monument Atomium. Seven renowned chefs from around Brussels serve five course gastronomic meals on the towering platform.

Even a downpour of rain on the first day of dining didn’t stop the chefs.

Lionel Rigolet, Chef of Comme Chez Soi Restaurant, said, "The difficulty here is that unfortunately we don’t have any way to heat the plates, so the plates might be a little bit cold. But we started with cold starters. The main course will be warm. We’ll try to serve it in the best conditions. And we finish with a cold desert."

The platform has enough seats for 22 guests and one star chef to enjoy the rare dishes.

Founded in Belgium in 2006, the restaurant grew quickly into a global brand. Dinner in the Sky is currently represented in 43 different countries, and has lifted over 125,000 people around the world.

David Ghysels, Creator of Dinner In the Sky Concept, said, "It’s something very special, and it’s a unique moment. You will see we are up in the sky. They are cooking for you, and it will just exist for one lunch. After it’s finished, no more."
While the experience may have some on edge, one guest said this initial anxiety disappeared when the food arrived.

Caroline Orlend, Guest, said, "In the beginning, you don’t really feel like looking to the left and to the right with your feet hanging in the air. But once you start eating and this is proved, the stress drops at once and you really feel comfortable."

Dinner in the Sky is back in its home country this summer as part of Brusselicious 2012, Brussels’ year-long food festival.
