After making landfall, tropical storm Beryl threatened to snarl traffic on Memorial Day as it brings drenching rain, winds and possibility of flooding to the southeastern U.S. coast.

Thunderstorm forced the annual National Memorial Day concert in Washington to end early. About halfway through Sunday’s concert, people were told to leave and find shelter because of severe weather that had developed over Pennsylvania.

President Obama’s paying tribute to fallen warriors on Memorial Day, attending a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery and honoring those who died in the Vietnam War.

And former British Prime Minister Tony Blair faces questions on his relationship with the press and Rupert Murdoch at an inquiry into media ethics.
