President Obama signs an order giving veterans and military families new protections against career colleges and technical programs that try to mislead, bilking them for federal education dollars.

U.N. Secretary Ban Ki-moon says the Syrian government's repression of its civilian population has reached what he calls an unacceptable, intolerable stage. Ban says it is alarming that killings there continue.

The space shuttle "Enterprise" takes a lap by air around New York City on top of a Boeing 747 before landing there, on the way to the museum on the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier.

In Colorado, a 200-pound black bear that wandered on to the campus at the University of Colorado is released back into the Rocky Mountains. The bear dropped 15 feet from its perch onto pads on the ground.
