And rushed into the tool-shed, and jumped into a can. It would have been a beautiful thing to hide in, if it had not had so much water in it.
他狂奔進(jìn)了一個(gè)工具棚,跳進(jìn)了一個(gè)鐵罐里躲了起來??蓻]想到這里面竟然有那么多的水,否則這一定是個(gè)非常好的藏身場所。

Mr. McGregor was quite sure that Peter was somewhere in the tool-shed, perhaps hidden underneath a flower-pot. He began to turn them over carefully, looking under each.Presently Peter sneezed—'Kertyschoo!' Mr. McGregor was after him in no time.
麥戈雷格先生認(rèn)定彼得一定就藏在工具棚里,只是不知道在哪個(gè)地方而已。也許他會躲到花盆里面,于是他開始小心翼翼地把花盆一個(gè)個(gè)翻開,湊近他的腦袋往花盆里上上下下地仔細(xì)查看。 可就在這時(shí),彼得打了個(gè)噴嚏,“阿······嚏!”,不巧得很,麥戈雷格先生就在他的身后。

And tried to put his foot upon Peter, who jumped out of a window, upsetting three plants. The window was too small for Mr. McGregor, and he was tired of running after Peter. He went back to his work.
他伸出腳,使足了勁朝彼得身上踩去,而彼得迅速地躥上窗臺,還踩斷了戈雷格先生的三株花,從窗戶跳了出去。麥戈雷格先生想繼續(xù)追,可窗戶對他來說實(shí)在是太小了,況且他已經(jīng)累得氣喘吁吁了,于是他返身回去繼續(xù)干他的活。

Peter sat down to rest; he was out of breath and trembling with fright, and he had not the least idea which way to go. Also he was very damp with sitting in that can.After a time he began to wander about, going lippity—lippity—not very fast, and looking all round.
彼得終于能坐下來休息一會兒了,他跑得上氣不接下氣。由于害怕,渾身還一直在發(fā)抖,可現(xiàn)在的他根本不知道怎樣才能找到出去的路。剛才躲在那個(gè)裝有很多水的鐵罐里,讓他全身都濕透了。休息了一會兒,他開始起來察看情況,十分謹(jǐn)慎地一邊走一邊看,希望能盡快找到出去的路。
