Star Trek‘s Leonard Nimoy will make a guest appearance on the CBS series The Big Bang Theory for its March 29 episode.

THR reports that Nimoy, who played the character of Spock in the original 1960′s Star Trek series and its subsequent movies, including JJ Abrams’ 2009 reboot, will voice the role of Spock during a dream sequence where he’ll speak to Sheldon, played by Jim Parsons.

On the series, Sheldon, the most obsessive of his group of young scientist geeks friends, is a big fan of Star Trek and Leonard Nimoy. One of the biggest moments on the show was when Sheldon’s neighbor Penny gifts him a napkin that was used then signed by Nimoy.

Trek and Spock are mentioned frequently throughout the series. In the episode The Lizard-Spock Expansion, Sheldon teaches his friends how to play a game he created called “Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock” (Sheldon explained the game again in a recent episode, this time to one of his rivals). One time, Sheldon ordered a cardboard cutout standee of Spock only to disappointingly discover that it was of Zachary Quinto’s Spock, not Leonard Nimoy’s.

Nimoy won’t be the first Trek alumnus to guest star on the show. George Takai appeared as himself in another character Howard’s dream sequence (along with Battlestar Galactica‘s Katee Sackhoff); LeVar Burton actually showed up to one of the gang’s parties; and Wil Wheaton has been in several episodes, as himself, as Sheldon’s nemesis.

The Big Bang Theory airs on CBS on Thursdays at 8pm.

《生活大爆炸》本周停播，最新集將于美國時間3月8日播出，播完后繼續(xù)停播。按目前的播出安排，該劇于美國時間4月19日才會回歸，但由于該新聞提到了3月29日的新集，播出安排也許會發(fā)生變動，提前到3月29日回歸。此外《生活大爆炸》本季只剩6集新集，停播是為了能拖到5月份季終。
