3.2主體段 (Body)

正如之前章節(jié)所說,小作文主體段描寫的內(nèi)容主要分為兩大類,分別是趨勢類和多少類。本文將從兩類圖形著手分別介紹其適用的語言。在介紹詞匯時(shí),每組會(huì)有較多選擇,考生若要做到語言的多樣性,每組須背兩到三個(gè)。

3.2.1趨勢類圖表

你知道考官不喜歡怎樣的趨勢表達(dá)嗎?

The number of people who became the UK citizens increased rapidly from 1992 to 1996 from 20 thousand to 80 thousand. Then it decreased slowly in the next four years to 40 thousand. Since 2001, the number rose dramatically again to 110 thousand. Finally, it fell steadily until 2010 at 75 thousand…

仔細(xì)分析便不難發(fā)現(xiàn)問題,在趨勢講解清晰的同時(shí),許多學(xué)生會(huì)忽略了單詞的變化和句型的多樣,使文章顯得乏味。因此,僅有最傳統(tǒng)的詞匯和最通俗的句式,往往不能迅速取得考官的芳心。

那么在考官眼中,哪些詞句才最合適呢?

There be句式在大小作文中都可適當(dāng)穿插。

2. The data of …experienced/ underwent a considerable growth between …and…, rising from 2600 to 6300.

“經(jīng)歷”一詞可以使單詞書面感加強(qiáng)。分詞的使用使得文章復(fù)雜感增強(qiáng)。

3. The period from...to…saw a marginal decrease in the proportion of ….

時(shí)間做主語,會(huì)讓句型變化更為強(qiáng)烈。“saw”在此刻做“見證”理解,充滿了擬人的氛圍,讓語言更賦有吸引力。

4. The growth was suddenly replaced by a sharply downward trend.

“被取代”有很強(qiáng)的承上啟下之感。

5. A slight decline was actually found in bicycle travel.

又是一句被動(dòng)的成功范例。

表達(dá)總趨勢時(shí)可派上用場。

“despite”后加名詞或名詞詞組,“although”后則加句子。

倍數(shù)的表達(dá)可以使數(shù)據(jù)間關(guān)系更為清晰。
