Welcome back. Ten years after an attack destroyed the World Trade Center in New York, the new World Trade Center is now taking shape. The skyscraper formerly known as the Freedom Tower is growing at a rate of one story per week. And it is now the tallest building in lower Manhattan and on its way to being the tallest building in the western hemisphere. A transit station and a second office tower are also about to be completed. The memorial opens to victims' family members on September 11th and to the public on September 12th.
