Well, well, this isn't exactly the party I'd planned, but I sure like the company.
And I want to start today by saying how grateful I am to all of you, to everyone who poured your hearts and your hopes into this campaign, who drove for miles and lined the streets waving homemade signs, who scrimped and saved to raise money, who knocked on doors and made calls, who talked, sometimes argued with your friends and neighbors, who e-mailed and contributed online, who invested so much in our common enterprise, to the moms and dads who came to our events, who lifted their little girls and little boys on their shoulders and whispered in their ears, "See, you can be anything you wanna be."
今天,我首先要衷心感謝你們大家,感謝所有為這次競選傾注心血和寄予希望的人民!你們長途跋涉,涌上街頭,揮舞著自制的橫幅;你們省吃儉用踴躍捐款;你們上門拜訪或致電聯(lián)絡(luò);你們與朋友們或鄰居討論,有時(shí)甚至爭辯;
段末的you can be anything you wanna be則最鼓舞人,最具感染力。
poured your hearts and your hopes into,動(dòng)詞pour非常形象生動(dòng)且有力量。
