On June 18th, 1815, Napoleon was defeated at Waterloo.
Less than a year after his [-----1-----] as Emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte escaped from exile on the island of Elba and quickly rallied France to his final 100 days of power. His restoration alarmed Europe greatly, as Allied British, Prussian and Dutch armies [-----2-----] in Belgium. Napoleon sent his [-----3-----] to Belgium at a speed the Allies had considered impossible. There, four days of battle [-----4-----] at Waterloo. Napoleon's forces were outnumbered and several generals made fatal misjudgements in carrying out his strategy to divide the British and Prussian armies. In the final hours of June 18th, 1815, his army, boxed in on four fronts, [-----5-----]. Napoleon was exiled to St. Helena.
