M: What do you mean?
W: For example, on Saturday, we went to a special party.
M: A special party?
W: Yeah. Every Saturday, the whole neighborhood come together, everybody brings some food to share.
M: It’s like a dinner party, isn’t it?
W: Yes, some what.
M: What did you do on Sunday?
W: We went horse-riding, it was exciting. Beautiful farmland, cows, sheep.
M: Wow, you really enjoyed yourself.
W: Sure.

M: Hey, Jane. It’s a lovely painting.
W: Thanks, Mark. But it doesn’t look right to me. You know, I’m just learning.
M: Let me see. I think it might be the color of the sky.
W: Why? The sky is blue, isn’t it?
M: Well, that depends. I mean the sunset can be full of reds and purples.
W: Oh, yeah. That’s the point.
M: By adding some other colors to the sky, you’ll get a more natural picture.
W: I’ll try that. How do you know so much about painting? Taking some courses?
M: No, actually, my father is an artist. He told me a lot about painting, and took me to different exhibitions.
W: Ah, I see. I hope I can meet him some day.
M: That could be arranged. Er ... it’s three now, how about a cup of coffee?
W: I’d love to.

M: Hi, Lucy. This is Jack. Are you still going to the health club?
W: Yes, why?
M: Well, I went to the hospital yesterday, and my doctor suggested I do more exercise.
W: I see. Why not join the club I’m going to.

W: Sure. Wonderful equipment, nice people, and it’s not far from my home.
M: What do you do there?
W: Well, I often start by running, then swimming.
M: Does the club offer training courses?
W: Yes, basketball, tennis, dancing. You have a lot of choices.
M: Sounds great. How often do you go there?
W: Usually, twice a week. On Mondays and Thursdays.
M: Not bad. I think I can manage.
W: Hey, I’m going again tonight. Why not come along with me?
M: OK. Where shall we meet?
W: I’ll wait for you in front of my house at 7:00.
M: See you then.

M: Our next topic would be a great scientist in the 20th century, Albert Einstein. You know, Einstein was born in Germany in 1879. As a small boy, he was fond of asking questions and showed great interested in nature. From the age of 17, he studied in Switzerland. During that time, he did several jobs in order to continue his study. He first taught in a school, and then worked in a government office. In 1905, he began his physics research which finally let him to win the Noble Prize. In 1933, Einstein left Europe for the United States, and lived the rest of his life there. Besides physics, Einstein loved music very much, he often made music at home with his friends. He died in 1955, at the age of 76.

W: Welcome to our National Park, my name is Linda, your tour guide today. You have made a right choice to be here in spring, the best time of the year, because summer is a bit hot, and winter too cold. Our park is famous for its 20-kilometer long valley, a home to thousands of plants and animals. For today’s tour, we have arranged a 50-minute valley walk in the morning. You will see beautiful flowers, strange rocks, and natural waterfalls. Animal lovers can also have a closer view of different wild life. In the afternoon, you’ll have a chance to experience some enjoyable activities, such as boating and fishing. If you like, you may have a picnic by the lake, the best-loved activity in our park. Now, let’s get on the bus and start our tour.
