Since 1980, the United Nations World Tourism Organization has celebrated World Tourism Day on September 27. This date was chosen as on that day in 1970, the Statutes of the UNWTO were adopted. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness on the role of tourism within the international community and to demonstrate how it affects social, cultural, political and economic values worldwide. This year’s theme is a celebration of tourism’s role in linking together the cultures of the world through travel.
自1980年起，世界旅游組織將每年的9月27日定為“世界旅游日”。之所以選擇這個(gè)日期，是由于在1970年的這一天，國(guó)際官方旅游聯(lián)盟（世界旅游組織的前身）通過(guò)了將要成立的世界旅游組織的章程。（小編注：此外，這一天又恰好是北半球的旅游高峰剛過(guò)去，南半球的旅游旺季剛到來(lái)的相互交接時(shí)間。）該節(jié)日的目的在于強(qiáng)調(diào)旅游在國(guó)際社會(huì)交往中的重要角色，以及對(duì)世界范圍內(nèi)社會(huì)、文化、政治以及經(jīng)濟(jì)所起到的推動(dòng)作用。今年旅游日的主題是“旅游連接文化”。
