1. disguise v. 化裝
She disguised herself as a man, but she couldn't disguise her voice.
她把自己喬裝成一個男子，但她改變不了自己的聲音。
2. dispose of v. 去掉; 處理
詞義辨析：deal with, cope with, dispose of, manage, handle
?deal with: 既可指處理具體事情，也可指處理或解決具有抽象意義的問題。
?cope with: 指成功地處理或?qū)Ω陡鼮橹卮螅鼮閲乐氐膯栴}或事物。
?dispose of: 與deal with同義，普通用法。
?manage: 指處理日常事務(wù)與工作，也可指經(jīng)營管理。
?handle: 從原義“手柄”，轉(zhuǎn)引申為作“處理”解時，其內(nèi)涵是管理和操縱。

3. distress n. /v. 痛苦

4. diverse a. 多樣的
The program deals with subjects as diverse as pop music and Beijing Opera.

5. document v. 證明
He can document his theory with facts.

6. dominate v. 支配
He desires to dominate over others.
他很想支配別人。
7. drain v. 排走；耗盡
They drain the swamp and turn it into fertile land.

She felt drained of energy.
她感到精疲力竭。
8. discard v. 丟棄
詞義辨析：discard, scrap, shed
discard: 指把具體的東西拋掉不要，著重扔、丟的動作。
scrap: 指拋棄過時，不再有用的東西。
shed: 指毛發(fā)、皮膚、葉等經(jīng)過某種自然的過程而脫落。
Don’t discard the drink cans carelessly.
不要隨意丟棄飲料罐。
9. exaggerate v. 夸大
The seriousness of the situation has been much exaggerated by the press.
形勢的嚴重性被報紙夸大了。
10. exploit v. 利用
You must exploit all your spare time to learn English.
你必須利用一切空閑時間來學習英語。
