Eiffel 65 - Blue (Da Ba Dee)

Italian dance-pop group Eiffel 65 told journalists the song was more about the beat — and the "da ba dee" refrain — than about the words. The lyrics were written as an attempt to define someone's lifestyle with one word. Choosing blue as said word led to lyrics like "I have a blue house with a blue window/ Blue is the color of all that I wear." The finished product repeated the same few lines over and over, and featured a music video in which the band battled blue-hued aliens.

Yo' listen up here's a story
about a little guy that lives in a blue world
and all day and all night and everything he sees
is just blue like him inside and outside,
blue his house with the blue little window
and a blue corvette and everything is blue for him
and himself and everybody around cause he ain't got nobody
to listen

im blue and i believe i can die and i believe that i would die
and i believe i would die (repeat

i have a blue house with a blue window
blue is the color of all that I wear
blue are the streets and all the trees are too
I have a girlfriend and she is so blue
blue are the people here who walk around
blue like my corvette its sitting
outside blue are the words I say
and what I think blue are the feelings that live inside me

im blue and i believe i can die and i believe that i would die
and i believe i would die

inside and outside blue his house
with the blue little window
and a blue corvette
and everything is blue for him and
himself and everybody around
cause he ain't got nobody to listen

im blue and i believe i can die and i believe that i would die
and i believe i would die
