Unit 4 Anna’s Secret 安娜的秘密

Anna has been a successful businessperson all of her adult life and is the owner of several profitable companies. Even though she is so successful, Anna has kept a secret from all except her husband. She can’t read.
安娜長大后，一直是一個成功的實(shí)業(yè)家，擁有幾家獲利的公司。雖然她是這么的成功，安娜有一個只有她丈夫才曉得的秘密，那就是她不識字。

She hides her secret by spending her days pretending to be too busy to take care of things like work contracts and the mail. Tired, she comes home at night and asks her husband to help her sort through the day’s paperwork. Not being able to read has made life difficult. Anna knew that for her to be the best she could be, she needed to confront her problem and learn to read.
她每天假裝很忙沒有時間處理合約和回信一類的事務(wù)，來隱瞞這個秘密。。晚上回家后，她疲倦地拜托丈夫幫她整理一天下來的文書工作。不識字讓生活變得很困難，安娜知道自己要想成為人上人，就必須面對困難，學(xué)習(xí)識字。

She told her closest friends and employees that she was illiterate. Fearing she would be ridiculed, she was surprised and comforted when she received nothing but support. Anna found a tutor and began her studies. With hard work and determination, she learned to read.
她告訴最親密的朋友和員工她是文盲，害怕會被嘲笑，但令她驚訝與欣慰的是，沒人這樣做，大家都很支持她。安娜找了個家教，開始學(xué)習(xí)，憑著努力和決心，她學(xué)會識字。

She recently received an award given to small businesses that have triumphed over adversity. More than just a successful businesswoman, Anna is also a mentor for people who struggle with illiteracy!
