—"in front of"和"in the front of"雖然只差一個(gè)定冠詞"the"，但意思卻完全不同。"in front of"表示“在…前面”，指在某事物的前面，沒有接觸，而"in the front of”表示“在…前部”，其位置是處在這個(gè)事物之中，只是位置靠前。

—“shut off”意思是“關(guān)掉，切斷”，可以用來表示斷水、斷電，關(guān)掉煤氣、電源等。

例如：They shut off the gas and electricity in their house before they set off for vacation.他們在離家去度假前，把煤氣和電都關(guān)掉了。
