I will stop eating candy, and I will not eat medicine just because it looks like candy.
Sarah: Yeah, those are all pretty funny new year’s resolutions. Now Alison is going to share some useful sentence patterns and expressions that might come in handy when making new year’s resolutions.
Alison: Ok. Let’s pretend that I really want to stop drinking coffee. (I don’t really – I love coffee with a passion. But let’s pretend.) Let’s look at the different ways I can talk about this New Year’s Resolution.
看看實(shí)用易學(xué)的表達(dá)新年決心的句型
Alison: First, state what you want to do. Then, explain why. Here are three different sentence patterns:
1.
My New Year’s Resolution is to stop drinking coffee,
Because I want to be happy without caffiene (or)
Because I need to give my heart a rest.
2.
I resolve to stop drinking coffee.
Because it’s not very good for me.
3.
This year, I will try to live without coffee.
Because I am stronger than a coffee bean.
Sarah: Now it’s time to make your own new year’s resolution. Try to use the sentence patterrns we’ve just learned, and tell us about your resolutions!
